Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival’s 8th edition in Srinagar is coming up on November 1st, 2026. Srinagar was the very first city that Bookaroo went into outside of Delhi back in 2011.
The festival has been hosted by the DP Dhar Memorial Trust ever since the festival stepped into Srinagar. We are delighted to be back in the city with the festival’s 55th edition overall. This year the Srinagar edition is a one-day affair. Eleven speakers from eight cities across India will present 20 sessions, ranging from stories to craft and activities to book readings to doodling to poetry.
What could be more fun than spending an entire day with books, authors, illustrators and storytellers and in a city like Srinagar? The festival sessions are crafted for children between 4 and 14.
Bookaroo Children's Literature Festival's mission is to spread the joy of reading and make books come alive. A non-ticketed event, it is dedicated to inclusivity and sharing the joy of reading with children everywhere. Organised by the Bookaroo Trust, the festival is proud to have pioneered the reading-for-pleasure revolution in India since 2008. By uniting various stakeholders in children’s literature, Bookaroo continues to take its message far and wide. The festival has travelled to 18 cities in three countries and has completed 54 editions overall.
